Deaf dog Jackson appears in TV advert for ECCO shoes!

So proud of Caroline and Jackson as he stars in his first TV advert for ECCO shoes. Jackson has previously appeared in other productions with his brother Finn including pantomime and Shakespeare - is there no end to this little guys talents?!

Instructor Bob and his dog Maggie get film roles!

I had an exciting email last week from a production company looking for a well trained dog and handler to portray a sniffer dog and guard in a production called "London Tomorrow" filming in Ramsgate last weekend. The perfect guy sprang to mind - our instructor Bob and his dog Maggie. Bob is a keen thespian and magician and has recently worked as an extra on The Tunnel series 1 and 2 shown on Sky Atlantic. I put the two in touch with each other and Bob and Maggie got the part! They filmed their part late Saturday night /early hours of Sunday morning. Bob said they had a fantastic time and the cast and crew were so friendly and welcoming. "London Tomorrow" is a short film written and directed by Nimer Rashed and produced by B19 Media Limited. It has been made with the support of the BFI and Virgin Media.

Doggie sign language - deaf dog Shadow learns to leave

Emma has been working alongside TAG (www.tagpetrescue.org.uk) to teach deaf dog Shadow sign language. On our first session we covered the basic good boy (thumbs up!), sit, down and to speak/bark and to be quiet on command. He picked these up instantly. Shadow was guarding toys and stolen items (he particularly likes a tea towel) and any food on the floor was his and snarfled up in a second. So in his second session we spent some time teaching him some impulse control in the form of the "leave" command. I left his fosterer to practice for 2 weeks and this video is the result of her incredibly hard work. He will now leave food on the floor and she can take toys and stolen items away from him. The "leave" command is so well established that we need to teach him to "take it" when he is rewarded - he is still learning this sign. In his third session we started work on his "stay".

Shadow is looking for his forever home. Interested parties should contact TAG in the first instance.

Gold Awards

Patrick & RubyVicky & Duke (2)

Congratulations to Vicky with Duke and Patrick with Ruby who both recently passed their Gold part II. This represents a lot of hard work on their behalves. They are only the 10th and 11th people to reach this standard since Enve Canine Services started in 2010. Congratulations!!

We got a mention on Radio 2

And the lovely lady does it again - this time talking to Graham Norton on Radio 2!!!!! Finding this very exciting but totally bizarre!!!! You can listen to the clip on BBC's website (Approx 4.5 min in).

Missie – Reading dog

We are very proud of Ve's black Labrador Missie who has started this week as a reading dog at Northdown Primary School. Missie is a registered Pets As Therapy dog and Ve and Missie will be going into school weekly for the children to read stories to Missie. Reading to a dog has been shown to help children struggling with literacy and also increases their self esteem. Missie tells me Spot the dog is her favourite story so far!!

Puppy Jack on TV! - watch the video

Still shocked/buzzing in equal measure to have had a totally unexpected mention on The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV and to see the gorgeous Jack’s photo pop up along with his flashing ball! Very proud moment for all the Enve team.

Happy New Year

2015 has been our busiest year yet marking our 5th anniversary in business. Ve completed her post graduate diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy and I have been quietly completing modules in agility training and puppy care under the British College of Canine Studies for my continuing professional development.

2016 is set to be an exciting year with Ve setting up to practice and looking to develop the business in other ways.

Thank you for being part of our journey and supporting us every step of the way. Wishing all of our clients past, present and future a happy and healthy 2016. Bring it on!!!!!

Love Emma and Ve xxxxx

Happy Christmas
